Electrical Engineer

Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities

Seeking a mid/senior-level Electrical Electrical for our office in Boise, Idaho. This challenging position offers a competitive salary with exciting opportunities to continue your engineering career at a busy, quality-focused engineering firm. Responsibilities include:

  • Performing and directing others in detailed building design, including lighting, power, HVAC power, refrigeration power, single line diagrams, lighting controls, security, fire alarm, and related engineering calculations.
  • Mentoring less experienced staff in project execution.
  • Ensuring that design standards and quality control procedures are followed and that the project team is resourced for efficient project execution.
  • Performing quality control design reviews for client deliverables.
  • Managing schedules and budgets for assigned projects.
  • Growing and managing relationships with clients.

Required Education/Experience

  • BSEE (BS in Electrical Engineering) degree from an ABET accredited university.
  • Professional Engineering license (PE).
  • 4+ years of building design experience.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of industry codes, including the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), Electrical Safety in the Workplace (NFPA 70E), Life Safety Code (NFPA 101), International Building Code (IBC), and IEEE Standards.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and/or Revit.

Desired Experience

  • Managing two or more people on a project team.
  • Filling the role of project engineer for several projects occurring concurrently.
  • Estimating project labor hours and drafting proposals.

Compensation

$75,000 to $90,000 per year depending on experience and qualifications.

Electrical Designer

Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities

Seeking an entry/mid-level Electrical Designer for our office in Boise, Idaho. This challenging position offers a competitive salary with exciting opportunities to grow or start your engineering career at a busy, quality-focused engineering firm. Responsibilities include working in a team environment to develop engineering documents, including lighting layouts, electrical equipment layouts, and single line diagrams using 2D and 3D modeling software.

Duties include electrical design for lighting, power, HVAC power, refrigeration power, coordination with other engineering disciplines, and occasional field assignments. Develop electrical drawings, details, and other engineering deliverables for new building and remodel projects.

Required Education/Experience

  • Associates degree in Design and Drafting (or equivalent technical degree).
  • 2+ years design/drafting experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • BSEE (BS in Electrical Engineering) degree from an ABET accredited university is a plus but not required.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) is a plus but not required.

Desired Experience

  • Knowledge of electrical design, electrical equipment, National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), and IEEE Standards.
  • Deliverable experience with lighting, power, HVAC power, refrigeration power, single line diagrams, and lighting controls.
  • General arrangement of drawings and associated details.
  • Coordination with electrical utility companies.

Compensation

Revit Modeling / AutoCAD Drafting Department Manager

    • Meet monthly with appointed department designers/drafters for template development ideas and implementations

    • Initiate project kick-off meetings

Plumbing Engineering Department Manager

Opportunities

This position offers the opportunity for professional growth through business development, mastering the technical and Code requirements of plumbing engineering, and mentoring a group of dedicated and talented staff. Our Plumbing Engineering Department Manager will have the chance to contribute to the success and growth of the company. We are looking for an employee with plumbing field experience in commercial construction. Plumbing design experience is also preferred. You will assist our Leadership Team with our business development, quality control, and employee growth goals.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in the commercial plumbing field including construction and design.
  • Experience in business development and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Ability to teach technical content.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong written communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter who can work independently on a day-to-day basis without upper management supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain company plumbing template plans and design standards.
  • Provide plumbing designers and engineers with technical support.
  • Review Revit Models for constructability and compliance with field requirements for the plumbing system installation.
  • Stay current with ASPE, Plumbing Code, Fuel Gas Code, and Energy Code requirements for plumbing systems.
  • Assign projects to plumbing design staff and ensure projects are completed on schedule.
  • Attend design coordination meetings with clients, owners, and the design team.
  • Provide quality control review of all plumbing plans to ensure Code compliance and consistency throughout the department.
  • Maintain client relationships and create new business through networking.
  • Perform field surveys to confirm as-built conditions for remodel projects.
  • Perform site observation visits during construction for local projects and projects throughout the United States.
  • Assist plumbing designers and engineers in achieving their career goals.

Compensation

$65,000 to $80,000 per year, dependent upon experience and qualifications.
